Boston Common was featured in As You Sow’s 2014 Proxy Preview, which was released this week. Published annually, the Proxy Preview has been called, “the Bible for socially progressive foundations, religious groups, pension funds, and tax exempt organizations.” The piece, written by Lauren Compere, examined investor response to problems in the Bangladesh garment supply chain.  Boston Common and the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility have led an investor coalition to address these issues since May 2013.

Proxy Preview also highlighted Boston Common’s engagement efforts with PNC Financial, VF Corporation, Disney, and Visa—and showcased our work with Environmental Health Network, As You Sow, and Green Century to produce “Disclosing the Facts: Transparency and Risk in Hydraulic Fracturing Operations,” an analysis report on the fracking industry.
