All Material Risk Investment System
Material Risk. Systematically Applied.
AMRIS, the All Material Risk Investment System, is BCAM’s systematic, market-aware equity platform. It analyzes company-disclosed business risks at scale, tests which disclosure patterns have historically been associated with subsequent security returns, and uses only validated signals in portfolio construction. The result is a benchmark-aware approach that can be calibrated to different levels of diversification and active risk, and customized to client-specific mission and policy requirements.
From Risk Disclosure to Portfolio Construction
Companies disclose vast amounts of material business-risk information, but it is often buried in long-form filings and difficult to compare across companies and over time.
AMRIS collects and organizes these disclosures by topic and severity, then tests which patterns have historically been associated with subsequent security returns. Those validated signals inform stock selection and portfolio construction.
The Source
AMRIS’s large-company dataset includes more than 450 million words in 1.4 million discrete risk passages, organized into 485 risk categories.
But scale alone is not the investment advantage. The advantage lies in determining which patterns should inform portfolio action and which should be ignored.
