Lauren Compere, Managing Director at Boston Common Asset Management, LLC, joined EIRIS’ Molly Betournay in a webinar on the issue of obesity as a risk factor in investment decision making. Lauren made the case for investor action on encouraging companies to adopt nutrition centric policies, and outlined key investor requests of companies on the issue of Access to Nutrition.
Lauren sits on the Expert Committee for the Access to Nutrition Index (ATNI), a project of Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), where she has helped to develop the methodology the index will use in assessing the nutrition practices of the world’s largest food and beverage companies. Boston Common engaged portfolio holdings such as Kraft, Pepsi, and Unilever to participate in the ATNI stakeholder consultation on its draft methodology.
Boston Common’s work in collaborating with investors and advocacy coalitions on the issue of nutrition was profiled in the Summer 2012 issue of The Corporate Examiner, the seasonal publication of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility.
