Matt is a member of our integrated investment team, helping to cover the Medical Equipment and Life Sciences industries. Recently, he also assumed responsibility for the Utilities sector, where he especially enjoys researching companies that facilitate the transition to a low-carbon economy. Before joining Boston Common’s investment team, Matt spent his first seven years at the firm on the client relations team.
Prior to joining Boston Common, Matt worked in Costa Rica as a Peace Corps volunteer, where he discovered a deep interest in the complexities of sustainable development while collaborating with local women’s groups and helping to establish small community banks. He also spent time in Costa Rica’s hospitality industry, working alongside employees and hotel owners to improve the positive environmental and community impact of their operations. He graduated magna cum laude from Middlebury College in 2007 with a double major in International Politics & Economics and Italian.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys chasing after his three young daughters, whether on the soccer field, hockey rink, or ski mountain, as well as taking on increasingly ambitious carpentry projects with his wife, and trying to grow as many fruits and vegetables in his front yard as possible.
