Boston Common Asset Management was one of 300 senior figures, including major global asset owners, investment managers and service providers that were interviewed as part of the 2017 PRI Global Investment Megatrends compiled by Willis Towers Watson released on December 14th . The report identifies five key megatrends impacting the global economy, financial system, and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as 21 ‘sub trends’ and provides a framework for incorporating mega/ sub-trend analysis within portfolio construction. Lauren Compere and Steven Heim (page 32 of the report) shared their perspective on the financial service sector’s transition to a low carbon future including the potential for many pipeline projects (i.e. the Dakota Access Pipeline) to become stranded assets.
